The Practice Philosophy

'We aim to work in partnership with you to provide excellent holistic care that is responsive to your needs. Together we can work towards promoting optimal health by making best use of the resources available. The mission of the surgery is to promote health, prevent disease where possible, give best treatment to illness as they present and treat patients confidentially and with courtesy.

About Us

Westcroft Health Centre was established in 1999 by Dr. Rowena Liesching to meet the health needs of a rapidly expanding population in the western area of Milton Keynes. Dr. Ahmad joined the practice in January 2001, Dr. Malik in 2004, Dr. Iqbal in 2005, Dr. Alifoe in 2006 and Dr. Patel in 2007.

The practice population is growing at the rate of about 1200 patients per year and it is projected that there will eventually be seven GPs providing medical services for 14,000 patients. The Doctors, Practice Team and Community Team work closely together to provide a high quality service that is sensitive to patient needs.

The practice moved in March 2002 from its original porta-cabins to new purpose built premises in Savill Lane. The practice consulting rooms are situated on the ground floor with excellent waiting room facilities which include a play and pram park area. We are fully equipped with facilities for the disabled. Community Nursing Staff and the Community Mental Health Teams are located on the first floor which has lift and stair access.

We are approved as a practice for the local GP vocational training scheme since June 2000. We practice a high standard of clinical care and offer chronic disease management programmes. We maintain a high percentage of fully summarised notes, and 'paper light' practice using EMIS PCS.

Our involvement in the Primary Care Collaborative, stimulated improvement in our care of ischemic heart disease patients, in keeping with the NSF guidelines on coronary heart disease. It has also encouraged us to review patient access times and look at patient satisfaction with our services.

Practice Area

The practice accepts registrations from patients living in Westcroft, Tattenhoe, Tattenhoe Park, Shenley Brook End, Emerson Valley, Oxley Park, Kingsmead, Snelshall, Shenley Wood, Whaddon, Oakhill and Medbourne.
